Apogee 2020 Mission Statement

Apogee 2020 is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that focuses on educating and training at-risk K-12 students in the areas of aviation, aerospace, and engineering integrating the use of hands-on and classroom teaching methods with the goal of inspiring our youth to pursue careers in 21st century STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) based fields through our two programs, Apogee 2020 NEXT GEN and Apogee Academy.

Apogee 2020 NEXT GEN

Apogee 2020 NEXT GEN is an after-school program open and available to youth in grades K-12 that opens the world of STEM curriculum through hands-on activities centering around aviation, physics, biology, meteorology, and aerospace science.

Apogee 2020 NEXT GEN’s primary focus is on:

  • Raising aptitude in science and math
  • Encouraging initiative, individuality, discipline, responsibility, and respect
  • Teaching the importance of values, principles, and self-discipline to promote positive and productive behavior in support of maintaining safe, healthy, drug and violent free lifestyles
  • Equipping students with knowledge and skill sets that will enable them to pursue careers in aviation, aerospace, and engineering

Apogee 2020, Inc. partnered with the Flint Crim Foundation and Holmes STEM Academy to make this program possible during the 2018-19, and 2019-20 school years.

Apogee Academy

During the 2020-21 school year, Apogee 2020 has temporarily transitioned its NEXT GEN afterschool program to our new Apogee Academy remote learning platform amidst the COVID-19 pandemic to offer our students a completely contactless afterschool academic enrichment program.

Apogee Academy delivers all of the Apogee 2020 curriculum through its online classroom platform that can be accessed via computer or any mobile device with an internet connection.
